The Steps

2. File the change form with the Secretary of State. Available online at sos.mn.gov or by mail. The form asks for your entity name, file number, and the new agent's name and address.

3. Pay the filing fee. Amount depends on your entity type and filing method (see table above).

4. Wait for confirmation. The Secretary of State processes the filing and updates your public record. Online filings typically process faster than mailed submissions.

Once the change takes effect, your new agent is the point of contact for all legal documents and official correspondence.
